In 1984, our late founder and eventual Bishop, Wallace Furrs, answered God’s call to establish a deliverance ministry in a humble storefront church on Pitkin Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.
Led by the Holy Spirit, Bishop Wallace faithfully carried out the visions God placed in his heart — chief among them, a call for our nation to return to God through evangelism and the uncompromised preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
His legacy has built a strong foundation of holiness, deliverance, and a steadfast commitment to fasting and prayer. Today, our church remains firmly rooted in that same powerful foundation, carrying the mission forward with faith and passion.
A devoted servant, teacher, and vessel of healing.
Pastor Ulysses Furr was raised in a Christian, God-fearing household in Ludowici, Georgia, under the nurturing care of his mother, the late Evangelist Josephine Furrs. She instilled in him and his ten siblings—including the late Bishop Wallace Furrs, founder of America Come Back to God Evangelistic Church—the importance of living a holy and sanctified life.
At the age of 12, Pastor Furr accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, beginning a lifelong journey of service, faith, and obedience to God.
After high school, Brother Ulysses relocated to New York, where he first served under the late Apostle Arturo Skinner. He later joined Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord, where he:
In 1984, he became a founding member of America Come Back to God Evangelistic Church Inc., supporting the vision given to his brother, Bishop Wallace Furrs.
Pastor Furr played a crucial role in:
His call mirrors the journey of Joshua, charged with continuing and expanding the work of Moses, faithfully carrying the mantle to build upon the foundation laid before him.
Pastor Furr’s life is a powerful testament to Psalm 34:19:
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all."
Over 60 years ago, he was healed of cancer. More recently, in 2024, Pastor Furr was diagnosed with sepsis, a life-threatening infection that led to organ failure. Doctors gave a grim prognosis, advising his family to prepare for hospice care.
But the Church stood on faith.
The Elders were called, the prayer of faith was lifted, and after seven days in a coma, God miraculously restored him. A month later, a second episode of sepsis occurred—and again, the Lord raised him up.
These experiences have deepened Pastor Furr’s sense of purpose:
To organize the Church, share his testimony, and proclaim the healing power of Jesus Christ.
Today, Pastor Furr continues to walk boldly in his divine calling. He shares his testimony with doctors, believers, and strangers alike, declaring:
"God is a healer, and He is no respecter of persons. What He did for me, He can do for you—by faith in Jesus Christ."
The mantle of deliverance rests on him, and as he follows Christ, he serves as a vessel through which others may experience the miracle-working power of God.
